France’s top team are the visitors to Salford City Stadium on Saturday afternoon (kick off 3.40pm) when the Heineken Cup returns for a two week spell.
The team from the naval port on the Mediterranean shore are currently five points clear of Toulouse, with twelve rounds played.
Attention will inevitably centre on prolific fly half Jonny Wilkinson, but the visitors’ squad is packed with big-name players, including Frederic Michalak, Bakkies Botha, Carl Hayman, Mathieu Bastareaud and Matt Giteau. There’s a strong English presence, including the Armitage brothers Delon and Steffon, Simon Shaw and three former Sharks: Andrew Sheridan, Sebastien Bruno and Juan Martin Fernandez Lobbe.
