SALE went down to their second defeat of the season with a disappointing display against a well drilled LSH side.

The visitors’ took the lead on 13 minutes when scrum half Matt Gaines darted through the Sale defence for the opening try.

Ten minutes later they extended their lead with a try and conversion from stand-off Greg Smith and Sale’s only reply in the first half was a penalty from Andy Rowley on 30 minutes.

The home side’s attacking play lacked a cutting edge and all too often possession was lost by poor handling or passing.

To make worse the Sale line out was not working at its usual level and as the game progressed frustration became more evident as the LSH defence repelled all of Sale’s efforts.

To rub salt in the wound, LSH scored a third try with a minute of the match remaining to confirm their superiority on the day.
