THE Leeds Abbey Dash 10K, which took place on November 18, is firmly established in the sporting calendar and is potentially the fastest 10K nationwide.
More than 9,000 runners registered for the race and there were 7,379 finishers.
Altrincham and District Athletic Club athletes confirmed their position as one of the leading clubs in the north of England with Mohammed Abu-Rezeq finishing 3rd in 29.49, Matt Barnes 5th in 29.56 and Dave Norman 13th in 30.19.
Mohammed was with the leading group of three for most of the race, only fading marginally towards the finish.
Matt and Dave were with the chasing group all the way. Matt followed the shouts from club supporters to wind it up in the second 5K, and broke that magical 30 minute barrier. Dave ran hard all the way and also came away with an excellent time. Further down the field Sarah Mackness ran 39.35 and Mansel Pope 47.07.
