Louis Taylor breaks away to score for AK
AK first team travelled to Wirral on Saturday and controlled the early exchanges. A great individual try from Louis Taylor converted by James Nettleton gave AK a deserved 7 – 0 lead.
Wirral then came back into the game thanks to AK incurring 12 consecutive penalties and a sin binning, which allowed Wirral to lead 13 – 7 at the break.
Two further penalties to Wirral in the second half extended their lead, but then AK dominated the rest of the game. However when AK looked likely to score tries on several occasions the referee brought them back for infringements. They eventually had to settle for two penalties kicked by James Nettleton and a bonus point in a 19 – 13 defeat.
On Sunday the AK women’s team travelled to Hull and came away with a hard fought 7 – 5 win. AK’s try was scored by Sarah Daly and converted by Julie Clegg – Haver.
AK Under 14s followed up their previous week’s win against Bowdon with a 53 – 5 win over Waterloo. Tries were scored by Will Schofield (3) Sol Neild (3), Jack Waywell, Rob Jones, and Will Seth-Smith with Sol Neild kicking 4 conversions.
Next Saturday is the AK Firework Display, gates open at 6.30pm.
