SALE Jets lost 20-12 to Gloucester United in the Aviva ‘A’ League on Monday. The game at Kingsholm was played in a diagonal wind, with a torrential first half downpour making life difficult for both sides. Field scored the opening try for the home team, Cook converting then adding a 23rd minute penalty. The Jets replied before half time when winger Haley scored, Cliff converting.

A Taylor penalty extended Gloucester’s lead after the resumption, and he was on hand to convert a try from Cox. The Jets had their moments during the second half, finishing with a try from Cruse.
