Sharks left seething after Bath encounter

Bath Rugby 24 Sale Sharks 20 SALE Sharks were left seething at the end of this ferocious encounter which they let slip in the final three minutes. They were also aggrieved by being on the wrong end of referee David Rose’s whistle, with a penalty count 15-4 in the home side’s favour. The busy match official produced three yellow cards in the first half – to Sharks’ Chabal and Turner, and home skipper Lipman.

Wet and windy defeat for Sharks

Montauban 16 Sale Sharks 12 SALE Sharks’ task of qualifying from the Heineken Cup ‘pool of death’ was made much harder when they lost in a wet and windy Montauban on Saturday night. Four penalties from Charlie Hodgson had made the score 13-12 with 55 minutes gone, but Sharks were restricted to midfield in a second half battle, and a breakaway by the lime green-shirted home side with three minutes left saw Scots referee Peter Allen penalise Sebastien Chabal for not rolling away.
