WILL Addison revealed his relief when he heard the final whistle on Saturday in Sale Sharks’ dramatic 34-34 draw against Worcester Warriors.

Addison scored two tries in the first half to help the Sharks secure three points at Sixways.

Speaking after the game, the centre said: “We knew that it was going to be a tough game.

"Dan Braid kept coming on and said it was going to be a high-scoring game and with the amount of running being done it turned out that nine tries were scored.

“In the end we were happy to get the points, and there is plenty to review to improve on heading into Saturday’s game against Leicester.

“I was relieved but disappointed at the end of the game.

"I think Worcester will feel the same way. There were a few pivotal moments in the game, where we turned the ball over on our try line.

"We’ll come back better from this, though, and we will be ready for the fight against Leicester.

“We’ve got eight new guys playing with us at the moment and they are settling in game by game.”

Meanwhile, Sharks' director of rugby Steve Diamond was philosophical after the draw.

He said: "We started really well and scored two good tries then gave two silly penalties away which Worcester capitalised on and they went in leading at the break.

“Would I have taken a 34 all draw at half time? Yes I would, this Worcester side have got good resolve and play well on the 4g surface.

"I was happy when we got the driving maul working properly, which brought us back into the game.

"I thought it was beyond us at one point but the lads knuckled down and clawed their way back

into the game.”
