SALE Sharks flanker Dave Seymour has urged his team-mates to produce a big reaction when they face reigning Premiership champions Saracens at the AJ Bell Stadium on Saturday.

Seymour was speaking after the side's disappointing 31-23 defeat to Worcester Warriors last weekend, where he scored one of the four tries which earned Sharks a point from the game.

He told the club's website: "We had momentum heading into it and fair play to Worcester, they played well and we didn't.

"They got a good lead and we were always playing catch-up.

"We started the second half really well with a try, but then we made an error from the restart and gave them points again.

"We played poorly and made too many basic errors.

"Coming away with a point is better than nothing but we didn't go to Worcester for that, we went to go away with four.

"The most important thing is we react now heading into this Saturday's game.

"We have two back-to-back home games, with two massive teams coming up to the AJ Bell Stadium, and it's all about the reaction and getting a result against Saracens.

"You don't want to back up another loss with a loss.

"We had momentum, messed up and we played poorly.

"We need to react this week in training and come the weekend."

A try by Mike Haley three minutes from time secured a losing bonus point for Sharks at Sixways.

But the defeat ended the six-game unbeaten run for Sharks who scored four tries to Warriors' three but lost out after Danny Cipriani missed all his conversion attempts.

Worcester edged ahead when Tom Heathcote kicked a penalty after three minutes.

Five minutes later they scored their first try when flanker Carl Kirwan went over to make it 10-0.

Cipriani reduced the arrears with a penalty on 16 minutes before home debutant Francois Hougaard scored a try, and Heathcote got the conversion to make it 15-3 before he kicked a penalty.

The Sharks travelling supporters had something to cheer about as the first half finished when they scored their first try of the game, Seymour touching down at the base of a fantastic driving maul.

Another Heathcote penalty for Warriors made it 21-8 at the interval.

The second half got off to the best possible start for Sharks as they got a try within two minutes, Tommy Taylor at the back of a successful driving maul to touch down.

But the hosts responded with a try of their own when full-back Chris Pennell crossed and Heathcote kicked the conversion to make it 28-13.

Worcester went on the hunt for another try and on 51 minutes they earned a penalty which Heathcote kicked to make it 31-13.

Seven minutes later the Sharks earned back-to-back penalties at the driving maul. On the third attempt, the ball was passed through the backs and Haley crossed over to score and then repeated the feat on 77 minutes but it was not enough to get back into the game.
