SALE Sharks winger Mark Cueto may have been celebrating the milestone of making 300 appearances for the AJ Bell Stadium side but the celebrations stop there as he is focussed on helping the club's top four push.

Steve Diamond's side face a tough trip to the Madejski Stadium on Sunday afternoon to take on London Irish.

All players are fit and ready to go against a London Irish side who will be determined to claim only their fourth home league win in the Aviva Premiership.

However, a victory for Sale and other results going their way, the Sharks could be in the top six of the table.

Sale will be keen to build on their impressive 23-6 win against Gloucester which saw them move to within a point of Wasps in sixth.

That game was former England winger Cueto's 300th time pulling on the Sale shirt.

He said: "When you start out you sort of just concentrate on playing well and get picked and it is not really a target and you don't think about it.

"There have been some decent milestones during that time as the 200th or 250th one was quite was a year or two ago so this was a nice little achievement to look back on."

Cueto admits the club are focussed on ensuring there is European Champions Cup trophy rugby at the AJ Bell Stadium next year.

He said: "The play-offs are achievable but our realistic aim is top six which we set out at the start of the year as a target.

"It will back up last season to get back-to-back top six would be great for the club.

"That is the ultimate goal to reach the play-offs to sneak into top four spot."

Cueto started his career at Altrincham Kersal and he is delighted with their success this season.

He said: "I do still have a lot of friends at the club so I keep an eye on how they are doing every now and again.

"They seem to float between the division they are in and the one above but it is great for me to see them do well."

London Irish will be licking their wounds after going out of the European Challenge Cup losing to Edinburgh 18-23.

They currently lie in 10th spot in the table and Sale will be looking to complete the double over their opponents after a 36-8 win at home earlier in the season.
