SALE Sharks entertain Northampton for the second time in 12 days at the AJ Bell Stadium on Thursday evening, kick off 8pm.

After the Sharks magnificent wins in the Aviva Premiership against Northampton and at Bath, it’s the Amlin Challenge Cup Quarter Final with a home semi final being the prize against the winners of Stade Francais and Harlequins.


Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: "We are high on confidence at the moment and I would urge all Sale Sharks fans to come down to the AJ Bell Stadium next Thursday to support the lads.

"We have come a long way in the last 15 months and the lads on the field deserve a big crowd cheering them on.

"The squad from the 2002 winners are coming down to add their support."


Sale are seeded fourth after winning group one with five wins in six games, scoring 18 tries.

Northampton arrive as the third best pool runner up in the Heineken Cup.


Statistically Dan Braid has won 7 turnovers, James Gaskell has won 21 lineouts and Andrei Ostrikov has made a massive 53 tackles in the six games he has played in as well as scoring that interception try against Biarritz at the AJ Bell Stadium in October.

Danny Cipriani has notched up 45 points at an average of nine a game.


Sale Sharks have never lost a quarter final in this competition and recorded their biggest win in 2008 with a 49-24 win over Brive at Edgeley Park.
