ALTRINCHAM FC Ladies continued their impressive start to the season with a 4-1 victory over rivals Egerton at Mersey Valley, maintaining their 100-per-cent record in Regional North West Division One South.
The Robins showed tremendous spirit, coming back from 1-0 down at the interval.
Alty put in a dominant performance throughout, Jess Hartopp and Louise Edleston testing the Egerton goalkeeper and Laura Dodds coming close with a long-range effort that went over the bar.
Then, against the run play, Egerton were awarded a penalty which they scored.
Just before half time, Alty had an excellent chance to level matters when they were awarded a penalty, however Dodds’ spot-kick was saved.
Undeterred, Alty regrouped in the second half and fired two quick goals around the hour mark.
Kate Bryan’s superb long-range free kick made it 1-1 before Megan Wright put Alty in front two minutes later.
Following a counter attack from an Egerton corner, the youngster unleashed a strike into the top corner from the left.
Keith Edleston’s side extended their advantage when Georgia Plant slipped a through-ball to Laura Kelly who placed a low shot home.
Altrincham scored their fourth following a short free kick, Dodds setting up Wright who crashed her shot home.
