TWO-GOAL Damian Reeves led the way as Altrincham hit the jackpot on the pitch, if not off it, before the BT Sport cameras on Saturday.

Alty looked to have been seriously undervalued by BT, who paid them just £1,000 to be part of their live coverage, and the impression was reinforced as Lee Sinnott's side turned on the style for a richly-entertained TV audience and a noisy, enthusiastic away support at promotion-chasing Bromley.

Reeves (two) and Josh O'Keefe provided the cutting edge, while keeper Tim Deasy continued to prove an able deputy for the injured Stuart Coburn with a string of saves that earned him the man-of-the-match award and helped secure an outstanding 3-1 win.

"People are saying some of Tim's saves are the sort Stuart makes, and there can be no greater accolade," remarked Alty boss Sinnott.

"Stuart was often credited with safeguarding or even winning points for us, and now Tim is doing the same, so there are similarities between them.

"Two goals in quick succession in the second half knocked the stuffing out of Bromley, and while they made mistakes at the back, we seized on the opportunities superbly.

"Josh put his away perfectly, and all you can say about the third goal is, it was typical Reevesie.

"It was poaching at its best, sensing an opening, latching on to it and dinking a clever finish over the keeper."

Alty go into this Saturday's home game with lowly Boreham Wood (3pm) desperate to correct an imbalance in results against teams at the top and bottom.

"People must look at some of our results, like the Bromley one, and say 'they're where in the table? 19th?'," said Sinnott.

"It can be frustrating, but maybe it will all click together one of these days, and we'll run away with the league! That's football, though. It's not a given science.

"The challenge is to do the same against Boreham Wood as we did at Bromley, but, then, every game is a challenge. No one game is less important than another, because three points is three points. The aim must be to do it on a consistent basis."
