ALTRINCHAM picked up their first three goal haul of the season when they defeated Bromley on the televised clash on BT Sport.

The visitors started well in a game played throughout in wet conditions but on a good, though soft, surface.

The initial breakthrough arrived in the 19th minute when Ryan Crowther's cross from the left was smartly headed into the far side of the net by Damian Reeves.

Alty were not able to add to their lead and, by the half-hour mark, the hosts had come back into the game.

The league's leading scorer, Bromley's Moses Emmanuel, shot at goal as he was challenged by an Alty defender.

The ball deflected over Tim Deasy but, the Alty goalkeeper retreated smartly and seemed to have scooped the ball clear at the foot of his goal post.

However, the eagle-eyed linesman signalled a goal and the scores became level.

Although the hosts threatened the Alty net early in the second half, two goals from Altrincham, netted in as many minutes, gave them a decisive lead.

First of all, an horrendous mistake by defender Ugo Udoji as he attempted to deal with a cross-ball, allowed Reeves to nip in smartly a score a close-range effort in the 50th minute.

And then midfielder Josh O'Keefe netted his first goal for the club with a well-placed, low shot from the edge of the penalty area.

Altrincham were grateful to goalkeeper for several excellent blocks, including two one-on-one situations against Emmanuel but, despite some pressure from Bromley, the closing stages proved relatively comfortable for the visitors.

Although the win leaves Altrincham still in 19th place, a position they have remarkably occupied for the last 12 games, they are now seven points clear of the relegation spots.

Their next game gives them the chance to increase that gap further as the visitors to the J Davidson Stadium on Saturday (3pm) are Boreham Wood, who occupy 20th place.
