ALTRINCHAM have pulled off a major sponsorship coup by agreeing a lucrative deal for a company to be the main backers for their new community sports hall.

Altrincham-based Sky Wheels Group are paying a substantial amount to have their named associated with the exciting new development at the J.Davidson Stadium for an initial three-year period.

Alty chairman Grahame Rowley welcomed the significant breakthrough in the club’s fundraising efforts, saying: “I believe it is fantastic news that an Altrincham company have agreed to sponsor our new project, and I hope it is the start of a long and profitable relationship between the two of us.”

Founded by former Dan-Air employees in 1991, aviation maintenance company Sky Wheels have flourished in recent years, and managing director Chris Jones is convinced their new partnership with Alty can benefit both parties.

“Four or five years ago, we had a staff of 14, but the figure is now approaching 60,’ he said.

“The business has grown and grown, and I would like to think that by working together, both Alty and ourselves can go from strength to strength.

“We are a unique organisation in that, as specialists in the maintenance of aircraft wheels and brakes, we are not really a company that looks to advertise. But we do have a sports enterprise and community scheme, where we look to work at providing sponsorship for certain sports and community initiatives, and what the club are doing ticked all the boxes.

“It is a fantastic project, and it’s going to be a fantastic facility for the community, and we are delighted to join forces with the club’s community sports trust to help make it happen. We have been based here for close on 15 years and feel very much part of Altrincham and all that goes on in and around the town.”
