Altrincham and District Amateur Saturday Football League

AFC Quarry increased their lead at the top of Division One to five points on Saturday after they overcame Atlantic FC 2-0 and second-placed Broadheath Central FC lost 3-2 away at Sale Amateurs.

Goals from Adam Hedges and James Pearce either side of half-time guided Quarry to a seventh consecutive league victory.

Elsewhere in the top flight, fourth-placed Wilmslow Sports came out 4-2 winners against third-placed Sale Town to move level on points with their opponents, Sale Moor FC stretched their unbeaten run to four matches thanks to a 2-8 thrashing of Salford AFC and Sale United picked up three points by claiming a 1-2 win at Knutsford FC.

In the two other games played in Division One, Flixton Juniors hammered Egerton FC 7-1 but remain in 10th spot and Swinton FC came from three goals down to beat Kartel Sports 5-3. Goals from Nicky Scott, Oliver Brumby and Adam Beasley put Kartel into a comfortable lead but a stunning second-half comeback from Swinton was capped off by a Jack Tierney brace.

Meanwhile in Division Two, table toppers Cheadle Hulme beat West Didsbury & Chorlton 4-1 to establish a four point lead over Northenden Victoria who suffered their first defeat of the season away at Baroni FC (3-2).

Elsewhere in the second tier, Deans Youth, Styal FC and Moorlands Sports secured wins against Sale Town Reserves (1-0), Old Alts (2-4) and Broadheath Central JFC (4-3) respectively and now occupy third, fourth and fifth position in the standings.

In the two other games played in Division Two, Unicorn Athletic drew 3-3 with APFC and Grappenhall Sports snatched a 1-2 win away at AFC Jolly Butcher to bring an end to a three-match winless run.
