Comprehensive win for MV 2nds

MV 2nds earned a comprehensive victory against Rossendale 2nd at MacPherson Park.

MV 2nds were up for it from the start and a good combination of play between forwards and backs opened gaps throughout the visitors' defence and scores came frequently for MV.

Openside flanker Pete Broadbent played with pace and agression and Stephen Alexander impressed on the wing. A 57-7 scoreline did not flatter MV and better finishing and more decisive breaks would have brought an even bigger winning margin but captain on the day John Kevan could be well pleased with his team's performance.

MV's 3rd XV managed to hold onto second place in their league despite coming off second best at Christleton 1st XV 31-14, they will look for an improved performance at home next weekend against Crewe and Nantwich.

MV's Under 15s worked hard at Glossop to continue their promising start to the season and came home with a deserved 10-17 away win.

Trafford will have their 1st XV back in action at weekend playing away at Mossley Hill in Liverpool. They will hope to repeat the type of display exhibited in their last outing when they outplayed North Manchester in exciting style to move up to 5th in North Lancs Div One.
