CHEADLE Hulme remain a point clear of Northenden Victoria at the top of Division Two after both sides picked up three points at the weekend.
The league leaders came out 1-5 winners away at Grappenhall Sports while Northenden claimed a 1-3 win on their visit to Unicorn Athletic.
Elsewhere in the second tier, third-placed Sale Town Reserves suffered a 3-2 defeat away at unbeaten Broadheath Central JFC, Deans Youth climbed up to fourth spot thanks to a 5-2 victory against Baroni FC and Styal FC now occupy fifth position on the back of a 6-3 triumph against Moorlands Sports.
In the one other game played in Division Two, West Didsbury & Chorlton recorded their first win of the season by overcoming APFC 2-3 on their travels.
There was only one match played in Division One on Saturday as Wilmslow Sports secured a 3-2 win against Broadheath Central FC to move up to fourth place in the table. Sale Moor FC vs Knutsford FC was postponed.
Meanwhile in the Altrincham & District FA Senior Cup, Sale United and Sale Amateurs both advanced to the second round thanks to victories against AFC Jolly Butcher (7-4) and Kartel Sports (1-4 AET) respectively. Chris Mosley's opener was cancelled out by Kartel's Stewart Yearsley to take the game to extra-time but a hat-trick from Nick Barker in the additional period settled the game in Amateurs' favour.
Flixton Juniors and Salford AFC both ensured their passage through to the second round of the Manchester FA Saturday Amateur Cup with wins against Salford Victoria (10-0) and Gorse Hill (3-1) respectively.
