SALE Sharks’ forwards coach Steve Scott has left the club.

The club issued a statement on Sunday announcing his departure.

It said Scott had left the club with immediate effect. He joined the club in December 2010. Sharks' chief executive Steve Diamond said: "Our results have been poor so far and we decided that we needed to change the coaching structure within the club.

"We have started the process of finding a replacement to coach the forwards and, while that process takes place, I will be assisting Bryan Redpath to prepare the players for the foreseeable future."

Diamond added, "I would like to place on record my thanks to Steve Scott who has worked hard in his role and always given 100%. I wish him all the best in the future."
