Trafford MV rugby

TRAFFORD MV's 1st XV had a free weekend, giving them time to prepare for next weekend's league fixture against Oldham.

The club's other teams were in action, though.

The 2nd XV's game at Waterloo was always going to be a tough task and so it proved - always under pressure MV came home with a disappointing 36-3 defeat. The 3rd XV playing at home also looked to have a tough afternoon ahead as Northwich stormed into an early 0-10 lead with a big opposition punching early holes in the MV defence.

Stout work from the pack and some good attacking play brought MV back into the game and an entertaining game saw MV earn a deserved 37-15 win to take them to fourth position in the league.

MV's mini/junior section are also back in action and MV's Under 15s went to Winnington Park and ran in 6 tries converting 2 while conceding 3 converted tries to take an impressive 21 -34 away win - a credit to all the players involved. MV's Under 7-8s are looking forward to featuring in the Hewden Tag Rugby in the interval at the Sale Sharks versus Leicester fixture on Oct 5 - a real high profile game for the youngsters to be seen at.

On October 3 MV will host Salford University Freshers in their trial games as the University newcomers vie for position with established players. MV will field a Development side against the Freshers with a 7.00pm kick off. MV's 1st XV 2nd row Matt Dakin will captain Salford University Rugby Club this season.

Spectators are invited to join the touchline at Trafford MV for their home fixtures - admission is free and good honest grass rooots Rugby Union is on offer each Saturday kick off times are 3pm check our website or find us on facebook for further deatails. New Players are welcome at Trafford MV.
