AK 1st team travelled to Vale of Lune with a very youthful team, comprising mostly players that have come through from their junior ranks and with six players making their league debuts.

While giving a good account of themselves and having a good percentage of territory and possession, Vale’s much more experienced team took their chances well and showed great defence to restrict AK to just one try scored by Josh Dyson. Late tries in the game from Vale gave a final score of 49 - 5.

AK’s 2nd team also played Vale of Lune and in a very exciting encounter eventually went down by 44 points to 40. The AK 3rd team also lost narrowly away to Glossop.

On Sunday the AK Junior Colts beat Preston Grasshoppers 45 - 17 to go second in the A League Next Saturday AK are at home to Rochdale kick off 3pm at Stelfox Ave. After the game at 5pm there will be the official presentation of the RFU’s accreditation award to the club by the Cheshire RFU president Adrian Senn. There will be a free barbecue and other entertainments running throughout the afternoon and all are welcome.
