Mini-Olympics event at Carrington Riding Centre Pony Club

MEMBERS of Carrington Riding Centre Pony Club took part in their own mini-Olympics style event.

They tackled a range of team riding games and challenges as they competed for gold, silver and bronze medals.

Monday (August 6) saw the finals take place and the presentation of medals to all competitors.

Members have spent the last 8 weeks learning about equestrian disciplines and competing nations including the capital cities and flags of each one.

The last night of the course included an exciting jumping final and all were tested on cities and flags with every member passing with flying colours and receiving their Pony Club badge.

Instructor Robyn Norton told parents that members had done terrifically well to work in teams to achieve the goals as she announced the winners as Great Britain and Ireland.

A big cheer also went up as she revealed that the GB showjumping team had just won gold in London.
