National recognition for Bowdon Hockey Club players

SIX girls from Bowdon Hockey Club have earned national recognition.
Three of the teenagers - Martha Watson, Hannah Pike and Amy Tennant - have been chosen for the England u-18 squad, while the others - Kath Somerville, Cliodhna O'Malley and Connie Vickers - have been picked for the u-16s.
They will play in a series of test matches against Belgium, Scotland, Ireland and Germany in the coming weeks.
The six girls play at Bowdon Hockey Club and will be included in the Bowdon Hightown training squads for next season 2012/13. Bowdon Hightown play in the Investec National Premier League.
Sally Walton from the Bowdon Hightown side has been selected to play at the London Olympics. Kirsty Mackay has also been part of the GB training squad leading up to the Olympic selection.
