JOANNE Morley is a golfing legend both nationally and internationally being arguably the finest lady player the North West has ever produced.
Her superb list of successes at amateur and professional level culminated in her being vice captain of the European Solheim Cup team in 2011.
She has always kept up her long involvement with her beloved club at Sale and has her various honours displayed by the club as well as the Solheim Cup putter she presented as a prize for a ladies club ‘major’ after playing for the European team in the 1990s.
Now the current lady captain, Sophia Casey, has assembled some of Joanne’s finest moments in a pictorial display in a prominent part of the main lounge in the club.
Sophia said: “We already have pictorial records of our former Open champion Richard Burton on display and I have always wanted to give Joanne’s fantastic career the permanent recognition it deserves and I am delighted with the end product.”
