STRETFORD Victoria Football Club celebrated their 35th anniversary in style with another hugely successful season.

The club, who are Charter Standard at youth and adult level, train at Turn Moss playing fields, Stretford and were founded in 1977 by Joey Jones.

This year the club celebrated success across the board with the U16s winning the Timperley and District League, the U11s winning the league and cup double and the U10s winning the Europa Cup.

Joey, 66, said: “We’ve always been a successful club and this year has been tremendous.

“We won four major trophies and have been in two cup finals.”

The club has even produced Premiership talent in the past with current Stoke City footballer Danny Higgingbottom an ex youngster with the club.

And Danny recently showed appreciation for his roots by supplying the clubs U14’s age group with a new kit and equipment for next season.
