Bowdon ease to victory over rivals Oulton Park

BOWDON won the toss and decided to bowl in a fixture that is always met with great anticipation by both clubs.

Oulton Park made a steady but cautious start, easing to 62-3 for their first 20 overs.

Patrick Roberts continued to bat sensibly but was let down by the inability of his partners to provide him with any real support.

Leg spinner Simon Marshall was the bowler causing the damage, running through the middle and lower order with ease. He finished with excellent figures of 5-45 off his 20 overs, as the innings closed on 122-8, despite Roberts ending 51 not out.

In reply Bowdon started badly to be 9-3 at one stage. Then came a match winning stand between overseas star Glen Parker (38) and upcoming youngster Mike Bryn-Jones (50 not out) as they eased to a six wicket victory with 15 overs to spare.
