Marshall steers Bowdon to victory

ON a bowler friendly wicket Bowdon struggled to top a modest Irby score of 103 all out.
Despite a fine 50 from Alex Hughes Irby’s innings never gained any momentum thanks to some excellent bowling from leg spinner Simon Marshall who finished with credible figures of 6-36 from his 16 overs.
In reply Bowdon struggled to 117-7 thanks to some fine bowling by Roger Houghton who took 3-15 off 11 over.
Bowdon were indebted to a brilliant innings of 84 not out from Simon Marshall, who looked a class above anyone else, Bowdon’s win escalated them to third in the league.
