Victory for Bowdon

BOWDON Cricket Club secured a four-wicket home victory over Bramhall in the Cheshire County Division 1 on Saturday May 5 After winning the toss and choosing to bowl, Bowdon limited the visitors to 161-6 from 50 overs.

Captain Gareth Edwards claimed 4-70 off 25 overs, after Bramhall’s opening batsman Matt Hughes had racked up 49 runs.

On the bat, Bowdon opened well with the lead partnership of Stephen Ball (45) and James McDougall (31) securing nearly half of the visitor’s total between them.

Australian all rounder Glen Parker’s innings of 35 secured victory for the home team in the penultimate over.

Bowdon’s next game is away at Irby on Saturday May 12.
