Bowdon v Sale
6:53pm Monday 30th April 2012 in Sport
IN remarkably pleasant weather conditions, the game was totally dominated by Sale who eased to a five wicket victory with 19 over’s to spare.
After winning the toss and electing to bowl first, Sale restricted the Bowdon top order to just two runs per over from the first 30 overs.
It was not until new Australian all rounder Glen Parker and the ever reliable veteran Jonny Gray came to the wicket and put on a nearly run-a-ball 60 that the innings gained some much needed momentum… Bowdon finishing on 144-4 off their 50 over’s, with J Hall having the excellent figures of 2-13 of 9 overs.
In reply Sale never looked in any danger of not reaching their target. A classy innings of 65 from Calvin Flowers ably supported with knocks of 33 and 29 from W Lubbe and C Canning respectively enabled them to ease to victory.
