Bowdon 3 (1) Beeston 3 (1) THE post Christmas part of the season eventually restarted with third bottom of the league playing third top Beeston, but in a superb game of quality hockey the final score of 3-3 just about reflected the overall play.

However, Bowdon played with a spirit not seen for a number of games, and goals from Phil Dutoy (2) and Si Egerton were rewards for a sound defensive performance in which Ian Hardingham and Thorsten Kuffner showing quality throughout.

The game had opened with Beeston on top, but their early lead was cancelled before half time as the home team dominated.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Beeston again going ahead and Bowdon equalising. However, the game reached incredible intensity as the home team went ahead with a stunning third with two minutes left, only for the visitors to scramble an equaliser just before the end of the game.
