ALTRINCHAM chairman Geoff Goodwin has ended his eight year stint at the helm of the club.

Goodwin has stepped down as chairman and a board member.

A club statement said: "It is with deep regret that we have to announce that Geoff Goodwin has stepped down as chairman from the football club as well as from the board of directors due to mounting pressures at work and his involvement with his son's karting activities.

"We would like to offer our sincere thanks for everything that Geoff, and his wife Suzanne, have done for this football club over the past eight years of his leadership.

"Geoff has agreed to continue his sponsorship of the football club until at least the end of the current season.

"Grahame Rowley will act as chairman until the next Board meeting, scheduled for September 22, when the position will be discussed."
