TIMPERLEY CC first team made it six wins for the campaign against Cheshire County Cricket League Premier Division's bottom side Grappenhall at Stockport Road.

Despite gloomy skies, Timperley skipper Nathan Brown won the toss and decided to make first use of the surface.

Grappenhall started strongly, Aaron McCabe (5-42) making short work of the Timperley top order, to leave them reeling at 14-3 in the early overs.

Brooke Guest (112) was joined by first Nathan Olivier  (21) and latterly Nathan Brown (24) to make some form of recovery to 134-5.

Guest looked in fine form throughout, and brought up his maiden Timperley ton with a cut to backward point.

His 134-ball knock included 13 fours and two sixes as he expertly anchored the innings to see Timperley to an imposing score of 232 all out.

The hosts always fancied their chances in favourable bowling conditions, and this was confirmed when Chris Page  delivered an excellent opening spell to take three early wickets and help reduce Grappenhall to 37-5.

He was backed up brilliantly by Jack White (3-28) and wickets continued to fall at regular intervals.

The inevitable was confirmed when Tim Sykes edged Ed Galley behind to give Timperley a massive 155-run victory in just 29.2 overs.

Timperley now have a 15-point lead at the top of the table but will face a sterner challenge in the form of an away trip to third-placed Toft this weekend.
