TRAFFORD FC boss Tom Baker hopes to continue the club's progression in Evo-Stik North next season but admits each year gets harder.

The Shawe View men were beaten in the play-offs this season after a campaign that also saw them reach the Manchester Premier Cup final.

But while Baker is confident his side can keep improving, he acknowledges others will be aiming to do the same.

He told the club's newsletter: "Where we go from here I’m not too sure.

"Everyone wants to see constant progression and I for sure do but it’s not easy.

"We have improved and progressed over the last three years but it’s becoming extremely difficult with teams constantly improving and being backed more and more financially.

"The league is certainly getting stronger and stronger.

"I’ll need to sit down with the chairman and the club to discuss what happens from here.

"One thing I will say is that I love this club.

"There are some fantastic people that make it what it is.

"But, what the future holds nobody knows."

Trafford have announced five home pre-season friendlies ahead of the 2018/19 campaign.

They will host Chorley on Tuesday, July 17, Ashton United on Saturday, July 21, Altrincham on Tuesday, July 24, Scarborough Athletic on Saturday, August 4, and Warrington Town on Saturday, August 11.
