ALTRINCHAM wrapped up their Evo-Stik Premier championship-winning season with a comfortable 3-0 win against Hednesford in front of their biggest crowd of the campaign at The J.Davidson Stadium

The Robins got off to a wonderful start with centre-back Tom Hannigan netting in the fourth minute after a Max Harrop shot had been blocked.

But they were unable to press home their superiority before the interval, although the visiting Pitmen carved out no clear chances of their own.

Seven minutes into the second half, Altrincham were awarded a free kick well inside the opposition penalty area, after goalkeeper Jose Veiga had picked up a back-pass.

The ball was teed-up from the free kick and Alty captain Jake Moult impressively volleyed home through the massed ranks of Hednesford players in the goalmouth.

In the first minute of added time Josh Hancock slotted home a third goal from a superb long pass by Moult, who later lifted the man-of-the-match award.

There were jubilant celebrations on the pitch after the final whistle, before the team was presented with the championship trophy.

Results elsewhere meant Altrincham had won the title by 13 clear points, scoring a magnificent 101 goals in the process.
