DAVE Coleman's prolific kicking saw Altrincham Kersal's first XV beat both the Arctic weather and Burnage last weekend.
Coleman kicked six penalties as Kersal won 23-17 in the North One West clash.
Both teams gave everything they could muster in the first half, Kersal finally breaking the deadlock with the first of Coleman's penalties.
Soon after an unconverted try from Micah Dyos, driven over the line by a hungry pack, increased the lead
Burnage's penalty count continued throughout the game, which Kersal swiftly pounced upon, as Coleman's consistent accurate kicking secured a further five penalties.
A game with few tries saw Burnage also bag themselves just one – the visitors moving up a gear in the second half and with five minutes to the final whistle they were trailing by just three points.
However, once again they gave away a penalty, which Coleman solidly put away, sealing a second successive win for the Timperley-based club.
On Saturday, Kersal travel to fourth-placed Blackburn, kick off 3pm.
