ANDY Power’s hat-trick helped seal Urmston Hockey Club's men's first team's first win of the season as they beat West Derby firsts 5-4 in Division Two (West).

Sean Barrett and Mike Tonge continued their strong early-season form as they joined Power on the scoresheet, with Scott Bailey’s assured defensive performance earning him the man-of-the-match award.

Lewis Monk’s tireless man-of-the-match display helped the men’s seconds to a 5-0 win against Bolton men’s thirds in Division Five North South.

Goals from Aaron Kelly, Dan Downes, captain Ric Clarke, Kris Wood and Luke Taylor secured all three points and sees the team keep pace with league leaders Didsbury.

Danieca Clegg was in inspired form between the sticks as the ladies’ seconds drew 2-2 with Division Three leaders Didsbury Northern as Charlotte O’Toole put in an impressive players’ player performance.

Captain Moe Rothwell opened the scoring with Lisa Jordan-Dickenson getting the Greens' other goal following great work from starlet Izzy Povah immediately after Didsbury had equalised.

Isobel Seed netted again for the ladies’ firsts as they were held 1-1 by Oldham in Division Two South West, with Claire Mulligan at the heart of the team’s dominance throughout the game, while the men’s thirds lost 6-0 against an organised Brooklands sevenths in Division Eight South East.
