OLD Stretfordians are the new Division One leaders in the Lancashire and Cheshire Amateur Football League after beating Milton 2-1.

Strets go top after previous leaders Waterloo had their game at Parrs Wood Celtic postponed.

Trafford United’s hopes of closing the gap on the leaders were dashed as they were held to a 2-2 draw at Stoconians.

Meanwhile, a basement battle saw Didsbury emerge with a 4-1 win against Moston Brook, who played some attractive football without being able to provide an end product.

There was plenty of drama at Chorltonians as they entertained Oldham Vics.

Chorlts looked set for a comfortable win as strikes from Pat Davin, Orin Moore (two) and an own goal saw them lead 3-0 then 4-1.

But Vics, having lost their opening six games, came back from the dead to draw level then snatch a late winner from Daniel Duerden to back up doubles from Anthony Morris and Anthony Williams for their first win of the season.

In Division B there are new leaders in High Lane seconds who won 7-1 at Trafford United seconds to overtake long-time leaders Salford Vics seconds, who went down by the odd goal in seven at Milton seconds in a thrilling game.

The other game saw Bury Ams seconds on easy street with a 6-0 win at Signol Athletic thirds.

Division D leaders Deans FC saw their lead reduced as they were held to a 2-2 draw by Manchester Rovers allowing Radclyffe AFC to move to within a point with a game in hand after they disposed of Old Strets seconds 6-0.

Staly Lions still lead at the top after being held 2-2 by AFC Oldham fourths, who closed the gap on Lions to a single point.

Didsbury thirds moved into the top five with an efficient 2-0 win at Chadderton Park seconds.

AFC Stockport were on fire in a 7-4 win against Trafford United thirds and Old Strets thirds were celebrating after posting their first win of the season with an exciting 6-4 win against Chorltonians Albion.

The Premier Division action was limited to two matches and Whalley Range are getting into a run of good form after they disposed of local rivals South Manchester 6-2.
