MANCHESTER Giants travelled to Spain for a pre-season tournament as preparations ramp up for the new British Basketball League season that starts later this month.
Danny Byrne and his squad visited Tortosa in Catalonia for a tournament against EBA side Cantaires Tortosa and the Europe Basketball Academy.
It was the ideal opportunity for the new coaching team to get to know their players and to get another couple of games under their belt before the first BBL match of the season against Leicester Riders on Friday, September 29.
Giants CEO, John Dwan, said: “This trip is very important in terms of team building and ensuring we have the best preparation for the new season. We would like to thank Sisco Pepio, president and GM at CB Cantaires Tortosa, for all his help and assistance in arranging the trip, and we look forward to meeting him and his team and enjoying a great weekend of basketball.”
Giants are now back in the UK preparing for a friendly against Sheffield Sharks on Saturday.
