TIMPERLEY first XI’s woes with the bat continued on Saturday in their Cheshire County Cricket League Premier Division fixture with Alderley Edge.

Put in to bat, Timperley could only muster 118 all out off 45 overs.

Abishekh Kulkarni batted well for a patient 38 not out at number three, but received little support from the rest of the order. Richard Wilkinson was the pick of the bowling with 4-44.

In reply, Alderley wasted little time and batted positively to score their victory in 20.3 overs at a run a ball with Calum Rowe 65no, while Jack White took 2-50.

With recent results slipping them down the table Timperley will be hoping for a better performance this week against Chester Boughton Hall.

The second XI fixture did not go any better for Timperley with Alderley winning by 62 runs.

Alderley scored 204-9 in 50 overs, with Jonny Scurrah scoring 96. Shan Khan bowled well for 4-31.

In reply, only Khan (45) and Billy Beaumont (34) posted a score in a total of 142 all out, James Bateman taking 5-40.

The third XI fixture against Urmston was cancelled with the fourths playing Europa Exiles at Mere.

They won comfortably by six wickets with Vipal Garg playing a captain's innings of 27no to see the team home.

On Sunday, the fifth XI played Hyde and drew.

Batting first, Timperley scored 218-7 off 40 overs with Ritvik Muthuswamy scoring a fluent 60 as a makeshift opener. He was well supported by Shukla (28) late on as Timperley accelerated.

In reply, Hyde laboured to 102-8 as the game limped to a draw.

Simon Spencer was the best Timperley bowler with 5-16 off 10 overs.
