URMSTON Tennis Club is celebrating Wimbledon finals weekend by being an official host of the LTA’s Quorn Family Tennis Cup doubles tournament.

The Quorn Family Tennis Cup tournament, which takes place on Saturday, July 15 at 10.30am, is open to all junior players in South Manchester and beyond, aged 11-18 who will play a fun round robin event with an adult family member or friend.

The club on Moorside Road in Urmston, has built up a thriving junior section over the past few years is one of only 10 clubs in the north of England to be designated a host of the competition which runs nationwide. The winners will take part in regional finals on September 24.

Club Chairman, Chris Ryan, said: “We are proud to be an official LTA Quorn Family Tennis Cup host and would welcome players from across Trafford and South Manchester giving them the chance to play on our fantastic courts.

"This tournament is a great way of getting families together to play tennis, whatever their standard, and should be a fun event. Juniors are the future of tennis and we are always keen to welcome new players to our club.”

The Quorn Family Cup is open to all juniors aged 11-18 playing with an adult family member or friend. Pairs can be the same or mixed gender. (An adult family member can be a parent, carer, guardian, step parent, co-parent, uncle, auntie, sibling or grandparent.)

Entrance is free but in keeping with the club’s open door Wimbledon Weekend spirit, donations are very welcome.
