TIMPERLEY Cons got off to a flyer in the summer season of the Altrincham and Sale Round the Board Darts League on Monday with a 6-1 win against reigning champions Budenburgs.
In the opening round of matches, British Rail Club also had a great start with a 4-3 victory against new team, the Cringlewood.
Two other new teams, Gardeners A and Gardeners B, played each other with the B team coming out 5-2 victors.
Brigadier, who have also joined the league, played their first match against Brooklands Tap but lost a hard-fought game 4½-2½.
The Central and Station played a friendly with the Central winning.
Both teams will enter the league proper on Monday.
With four brand new teams the summer season has new impetus and some real challenges for top spot.
