ALTRINCHAM boxer George Brennan was held to a draw by Liverpool’s Ricky Starkey in his latest outing.

After three successive wins as a professional, the bout at the Bowlers Exhibition Centre looked like being another great fight.

But Starkey decided to spoil instead of box after an impressive first round, having a point deducted in the final minute of the third round, but too late to save the result.

Bantamweight Brennan can rightly feel hard done by the decision as he may have lost the first round but when the boxing did occur he was looking the better man.

It was disappointing for the 20-year-old who will look to get back to winning ways when he steps up to six rounds next time out.
