BROOKLANDS first XI earned 13 points from a draw with Tattenhall in Cheshire County Cricket League Division Two.

In a game reduced to 38 overs per side, Brooklands were put in to bat and found themselves with some early rebuilding to do as Kevin Carroll, Christian Hart and Ali Buchan departed with the score on just 35.

David Madden was joined at the crease by captain AJ Hart and the pair managed to stabilise the innings.

The partnership reached 135 before Hart was dismissed for a superb 81 off just 59 balls.

Madden soon followed, bowled by Andy Styan who added to his early wickets, finishing with figures of 4-26 off 10 overs.

A quickfire 15 from Jack Bagshaw helped push the hosts to just one run shy of 200.

An early Brooklands breakthrough in the reply was delivered by Hart, having John Gibbon caught by Madden after just two balls.

Stuart Sadler and Glenn Coppack provided some resistance before Sadler was removed by Christian Potter (1-23) for 25.

Tom Mitchell (1-10), Mark Law (1-33) and Luke Maitra (3-26) cleared up the rest of the middle order with Coppack remaining unbeaten on 93 as Tattenhall finished on 166-6, picking up eight points.

Brooklands' second XI pulled off a convincing win at Grappenhall seconds.

Rob Leach (2-48) and Joe Gill (1-17) made early breakthroughs for the visitors but the hosts were able to regroup with some solid middle-order performances.

Jack Critchley (36) and Arthur Pennington (35) were both removed by Alan Millington (2-58) before youngster Cameron Buchan joined the attack and picked up four wickets, removing the majority of the tail in his spell of 4-33.

At the turnaround, the visitors required 181 to win.

An early scare was put to bed by opener George Storrow and Aidan Khares, who provided 114 of the runs required for victory.

Storrow continued his good form by hitting an impressive 62 and Khares celebrated returning to the team with a flowing half century.

George Foreman (17 not out) and Si Lee (7no) saw the Bears over the line for the victory in just over 43 overs.

The third XI also contested a rain-affected match against a Chelford second XI sitting pretty at the top of the league.

Chelford skipper Mohammed Irfan won the toss and chose to bat and it looked to be a good decision, especially for opener Mohammed Zaman who blasted his way to 127no, hitting 10 fours and 11 sixes along the way.

Zaman had reasonable support for his century with the visitors declaring on 243-4 off just 32 overs. Pritvhi Mody shining for the home side with 3-57.

Usual opener Ross Willard took to the crease with the returning James Hugall but was quickly back in the pavilion.

Hugall was joined by wicketkeeper Dan O’Gorman and the young pair put on a brave resistance before O’Gorman departed for 35, Hugall notching an impressive half century before he was dismissed.

Jaydutt Kamath hit a classy 33no and with Will Baxter (18) and Mark Nowell (17), they got the home side's total to 190 as both teams walked away with 14 points.
