ROYAL London hit cup holders Autocab for six in the third round of fixtures in the TCAS Summer Football League.

Looking for their first points of the season, Royal London were pegged back at the start as Autocab bossed the midfield.

But well-organised Royal London defence, consisting of skipper James Stokes and the ever-reliable Phil Jordan, dug deep, held firm and then used the experience of their midfield to break with power and pace.

It was the Royal London frontman Phil Drummond who benefited and within the first 35 minutes he had netted a hat-trick. A fourth goal soon followed from Nick Jordan, leaving Autocab four goals down and shell-shocked.

There was hope however, when winger Ayron Beaumont accelerated down the right and fired a powerful shot under the goalkeeper to pull one back on the stroke of half time.

Autocab came out for the second half full of determination, spearheaded by powerful new signing Callum Schofield, and it paid off with defender Dave Gagon scoring a neat volley to make it 4-2 on the 60-minute mark.

However, Royal London striker Drummond was still hungry, capitalising on a couple of errors by the Autocab backline to score two more to seal a 6-2 victory.
