CHEADLE Drill Hall was the venue for the inaugural judo match between Manchester University and Bristol University.
Organised by Trafford-based judo legend Steve Pullen it proved to be a great success both on and off the mat with several internationals involved in the action.
Pullen said: “Judo is a growing sport and particularly in Greater Manchester with the George H Carnall Centre in Urmston, Manchester University and the excellent facility at Cheadle providing judo coaching and competitive action for all ages and abilities.
“The match with Bristol University coming up to Manchester was a terrific event that we look to continue and develop in the future with judo players not in the teams able to enjoy coaching and watch some top-class action.”
