MANCHESTER Giants have agreed a new TV deal with local channel, That’s Manchester, which will see its games broadcast on Freeview.

Every Monday night from 8pm a full re-run of the Giants' game from the weekend will be shown across Greater Manchester on Freeview Channel 7.

This has been made possible by the British Basketball League’s existing media agreements with Perform Group and BBC Sport, which sees every British Basketball League game broadcast live online, via the livebasketball.tv platform, in HD and with commentary and graphics, and one game per week broadcast on the BBC Sport website.

Daniel Cass, CEO of That's TV, said: "This is an incredibly exciting step for That's Manchester TV.

"As the local TV channel for Greater Manchester, providing 24 hour news, current affairs, sports and entertainment programming from across the area, this is the ideal home for Manchester Giants matches.

"The Giants are a Manchester sporting institution and we look forward to working with them as they go from strength to strength on the court."

James Gordon, business manager of Manchester Giants, added: “The BBL is going from strength to strength with its media and broadcast coverage, and we have taken inspiration from a number of our peer clubs who have similarly beneficial arrangements in their local area.

“We look forward to working with the team at That’s Manchester to develop this partnership, improve coverage and raise awareness of basketball and the Giants across Greater Manchester.”

When the Giants play two games over a weekend, a decision will be made on which game to show and announced via the club’s official channels on the day of broadcast.
