THE George H Carnall leisure centre in Urmston has been a hub for regional, national and international success for judo stars for many years and has played a big part of the success of the sport at international level.
The club, led by top coach Steve Pullen, have always prided themselves on providing top judo training for all ages and abilities and recently won a plethora of medals in competitions across the country including top ranking ones in Bradford, Liverpool, the Brecon Beacons and Kendal.
One of the stars was Mark Montrose who won selection for the British Police squad by taking gold and silver in the under-100k vets and seniors' competitions.
Sale's Sam Campion, aged 17, took up the sport at the age of six and has come through the ranks to win gold at the Kendal Open in the 90-100k category.
Pullen said: “We have a great team here at George Carnall and the hard work put in by both coaches and players has reaped its reward once more.”
