JAMES Curtis is one of the most highly-rated golf coaches in the region with extensive experience at Chorlton, Northenden and latterly at Dunham Forest Golf Club.

He began his golf as a junior at Didsbury and was the youngest-player ever to win his full Cheshire colours before deciding to take the PGA course where he has gone from strength to strength.

Golf is a big part of the Curtis family with his father Sam introducing him the game at the age of eight. His brother Ben was also an outstanding junior and now his son Josh is one of the top junior players in Cheshire and a member at Ringway.

His latest exciting project sees James given the coaching rights at Altrincham and the driving range.

He said: “There has been a full refurbishment of my state-of-the-art studio, the range has new power tees, balls, lighting and general refurbishment costing over £100,000.

“I have the coaching rights and I am looking to turn the facility into the very best learning centre catering for all levels of ability with a special focus on our junior academy.

“This is a long-term project for me and I am looking forward to working with Trafford Leisure helping me with the continued improvements and development of the coaching facilities.”
