DAVYHULME Park Golf Club stalwart Bob Jones won his first club ‘major’ in 1996 and was delighted to have his name on the honours board for his success.
Now, at last, he is able to ‘double-up’ his gold letter glory after winning the Balfour and Houldsworth Millennium Trophy by posting a swinging six-under-par 66 off his generous 17 handicap (now reduced to 16).
He was one shot clear of Peter Bryant and is now looking forward to 2036 to complete his 'major' hat-trick!
