URMSTON Tennis Club is celebrating the success of its ‘Welcome Wednesday’ sessions and the start of Wimbledon by once more offering free sessions to members and non-members during the two Wednesdays of the Wimbledon tournament.
Urmston’s ‘Welcome Wednesday’ sessions throughout April and early May were a huge success and saw large numbers of people attend for free coaching, matchplay and cardio tennis. A number of these went on to join the club as paid-up members and the club has taken the decision to continue ‘Welcome Wednesday’ sessions with a £1.50 fee to cover the two hours of coaching time.
Club chairman, Chris Ryan, said: “Our Welcome Wednesday sessions were a huge success in opening our club up to new players and we had some really good feedback and people continuing to come to the club to play. "To celebrate the Wimbledon tournament, we will once again offer the sessions free of charge on June 29 and July 6 to encourage people who hopefully have been inspired by watching Wimbledon, to come and play tennis.”
‘Wimbledon Wednesday’ will take place on June 29 and July 6 from 6pm to 7.30pm.
