BROOKLANDS Cricket Club's Saturday sides achieved a full house this weekend with all sides winning.

The first XI batted first at home against Mobberley and collapsed to 11-3 as Abdul Aqeel (3-44) got stuck in.

A counter-attack from New Zealander Dan Duke (31 from 24 balls) got the hosts moving and then wicketkeeper Ali Buchan (47) and AJ Hart (54) put on 79 for the fifth wicket.

Mark Law (28) again contributed vital runs at the end of the innings.

The visitors cruised to 68-0 and 98-1 with Robert Spilsbury (47) and the dangerous Charlie Nield (41) looking like they were going to win the game, but spin twins Law (4-21) and Raj Singh (3-38) took advantage of a turning wicket with some support from opener Caleb Jones (2-45) to gradually eke the Mobberley men out.

The visitors were bowled out for 169 in the 48th over and the Bears move into the top half of the Cheshire County League Division Two table.

The second XI also got their first win of the season away at Bramhall.

The bowlers were excellent in restricting Bramhall to 163-7 in 50 overs but the fielders dropped numerous catches.

Tom Mitchell achieved figures of 13-4-16-0, but the stand-out performer with the ball was 17-year-old Tom Lett whose nine overs saw him take 3-19, while skipper Alan Millington took 2-33.

In reply, most batsmen contributed including pleasing efforts from promising youngsters Dave Cunliffe (29) and Sam Higgins (20).

The game was finished off by bowler Alex Robinson hitting 35 not out to get the Bears over the line by two wickets with eight overs to spare.

The third XI completed the clean sweep with a nine-wicket demolition of Ashley.

Skipper Andy Batty took four wickets, and Paul Vesey three, as Ashley were bowled out for 61.

Ross Willard (32no) and Tom Lush (23no) made light work of the target as they cruised to a first win of the season.

Saturday sees the first XI make their longest away trip to Upton, with the seconds playing the reverse fixture.

The third XI host Cheadle Hulme Ladybridge.
